This is the kick-off for the month-long Barnes & Noble Poetry Contest for Kids.
LAKES
Lovely on a sunny day,
reflecting light to dance and sway.
Always there, and never ending,
curly waves forever bending.
Kayaking across the shimmering lake,
weaving like a slithering snake.
Erie, Ontario, Michigan, Huron, Superior.
All of them Great, none are inferior.
Sailing the lakes is peaceful and fun.
Wishing the day would never be done.
