Mrs. Brooks ~ Conant Elementary School ~ 5th Grade
Inspired by "Snidely Whiplash"
in the Magic Suitcase

SNIDELY WHIPLASH

His complexion is green
and he is so mean.
He is a villain.
He'll rip out your fillin's.
He likes to do magic.
The effects are so tragic.
He poisoned his rabbit.
Mean tricks are his habit.

This poem was written by David,
a fifth grader in Mrs. Brooks' class.

Sparky

My dog Sparky is cute
I threw him down the laundry chute
My dog is funny
Funnier than a bunny
My dog is small
Just like me, and that's all
My dog is furry
And he smells just like shrimp curry!

This poem was written by Matthew,
a fifth grader in Mrs. Brooks' class.

Singing Mr. Raisin

He is a star
But not up high
He moves his left foot
And then his right
He stands up right
To his height
He wears a suit
And that's why he's cute!

This poem was written by Jayme,
a fifth grade student in Mrs. Brooks' class.

Allison Baker

Allison Baker was a very crazy baker
She bakes all kinds of things
But very crazy things
Like green pie or rainbow cake
And even green bean mud cookies
But the only thing is she does not like children
So for my decision I would not go there
When she is baking a fried cake or pillows

This poem was submitted by Julia,
a fifth grade student in Mrs. Brooks' class.

My Foot

My foot is smelly, not quite the scent of jelly.
It has toes; they do not come close to the smell of a rose.
My foot would never win, a contest for the least dry skin.
It has no warts, but something of that sort.
Its nails are all junky; I find that pretty funky.
If the color of my foot was ever seen, I am sure you would turn green.
Some say my foot is dirty, that is why I find it very perty.
