Inspired by a telephone cord from the Magic Suitcase
TELEPHONE CORD
It's bouncy, stretchy, dull beige and curly
and if you spin it, it becomes swirly.
A slingshot, a lassoe, a jumprope or whip,
this is a toy that's incredibly hip.
You plug it in and you talk on the phone.
My brother talks forever and it makes me groan.
It's a springy thing, this telephone cord.
Play with it well and you'll never be bored.
This poem is from Claire, Rachel, Marissa.

ELEPHANT EARS
I saw an elephant at the zoo
it was right next to a kangaroo.
His great big ears made a great big flop!
They could be used as a really nice mop.
They were kind of ugly and really hairy
He named those ears Larry and Carey!
it's kind of odd, but that's okay
I LOVE HIM ANYWAY!
This poem is from Brooke, Jessica, and Emily.

TEDDY BEAR, TEDDY BEAR
Teddy Bear, teddy bear lay'n in bed
Teddy Bear, teddy bear lost his head
Where did it go
I don't know
Under the chair
nope not there
let's check the stair
where's my bear
Where, Where, where can he be
there my bear as safe as can be.

JOE BOBBILLY DOLE
Once Their was a soul,
Named Joe Bobilly Dole.
Saving money was his role,
So he never used coal.
Whatcha know Joe Dole,
Was a mole!

A FEROCIOUS BEAR
A ferocious Bear
He has no care
He's big and brown
He makes no frown
He's extremely strong
And very long
Please don't stare
He's just a teddy Bear! |
