Temple Beth El Library ~125th Anniversary Poem
written by the 4th, 5th & 6th Grade religious classes
Sunday, December 7, 2003

This poem is a rhyming acrostic.

Temple Beth El

Big sanctuary, like an upside down, open book.

At high holy day services, its' packed in every cranny and nook.

Everyone admires its beautiful style.

You can see it for a mile.

Temple Beth El is the best temple around.

One thousand families make a lovely sound.

This house of G-d is the oldest house in town.

Happy Birthday Temple Library, 125 today.

Let us celebrate this special day.

Yamasaki designed you in a perfect way.

Every day here fills our hearts with joy.

We learn in the class and library — every girl and boy.

Let this birthday be remembered, with 125 years more,

For visiting the library will never be a bore.

Here is a version of the same poem

Temple Beth El

Big sanctuary, like an upside down, open book.

At high holy day services, it's where the lulav's shook.

Everyone admires its beautiful style,

as the torak is brought down the aisle.

Temple Beth El is the best temple around.

One thousand families make a lovely sound.

This house of G-d is the oldest house around.

Happy Birthday Temple Library, 125 today.

We might be celebrating until the end of May.

Every day here fills our hearts with joy.

We learn in the class and library — every girl and boy.

Let this birthday be remembered, with 125 years more,

For visiting the library will never be a bore.
